$240.00 Medicare fee^: If Medicare rebate applies, the rebate back to you will be paid by Medicare.
$193.99 NDIS fee*: If you are Self or Plan Managed as we are not a registered NDIS Provider.
$240.00 and no referral needed.
NDIS Reports, Letters and Assessment Report fees vary, please contact us.
$1.00 per kilometre as per Service Agreement.
Travel time will also be charged at the therapeutic rate ($193.99/hr) and by the most direct route as per Google Maps from our clinic in Abbotsford to your location.

Half-day and full-day training options
We provide clinical supervision for human services professionals including social workers, allied health professionals, counsellors and youth workers. The fee for Clinical Supervision is $240 (GST incl) per session including minutes and practice resources.

Referrals and Rebates

If deemed eligible by your treating health professional, you or your child may be able to access Medicare rebates:

Up to ten therapy sessions are available per calendar year. The rebate for each session is outlined in the Medicare Benefits Schedule^. Please ensure that your Mental Health Care Plan is addressed to Social Sense Allied Health.
To receive a Medicare rebate when seeing Social Sense Allied Health:
1. See your treating health professional for an appointment to discuss any mental health concerns (GP, pediatrician or psychiatrist);
2. The treating health professional can develop a Mental Health Care Plan and provide you options of which therapists you could see;
3. Let your treating health professional know you want the referral letter addressed to Don Mackenzie at Social Sense Allied Health with Medicare Provider No.5401364B; and
4. Email your Mental Health Care Plan to hello@socialsense.com.au
5. Please visit the Medicare website for the latest rebate amount as this varies depending on your Medicare threshold and other factors.

If you have private health insurance you may be eligible for rebates, check with your insurance provider to see if Mental Health Social Work is covered. NDIS

We are not a registered NDIS provider but we can provide therapy if you are self-managed or plan-managed. The fee is always in alignment with the latest NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. Other NDIS-related work requested such as assessments, reports, review letters, travel time (50%) and travel kms ($1.00/km), is charged separately and discussed prior with you, your Support Coordinator or your Plan Manager so that this can be allocated and forecasted in your NDIS Plan. NDIS Service Agreements will be agreed with each NDIS Participant or their Plan Nominee upon intake to Social Sense Allied Health.

Fair Pricing Statement
As required under the NDIS Code of Conduct and relevant legislation, we commit to pricing our services with honesty, integrity and transparency. We will not charge NDIS participants more for the same goods or services than those offered to non-NDIS clients, unless there is a justifiable and documented reason for any price variance. Any unexplained or unjustified price difference may constitute a breach of the NDIS Code of Conduct and may attract regulatory action. We also commit to avoiding all sharp practices in the delivery of services. This includes, but is not limited to, over-servicing, charging for supports not delivered, inflating hours, misrepresenting the type or level of service provided, or scheduling unnecessary appointments. Our focus is on delivering supports that are necessary, appropriate, and genuinely aligned with the participant’s goals and needs. Any practice that results in unfair, misleading, or exploitative pricing or service delivery is contrary to the NDIS Code of Conduct and will not be tolerated in Social Sense Allied Health.

Terms & Conditions

Where Social Sense Allied Health has a Short Notice Cancellation (or no show), they will claim 100% of the agreed fee associated with the activity from the participant’s plan, subject to the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits and the terms of the service agreement with the participant. A cancellation is a short notice cancellation if the participant:
1. does not show up for a scheduled support within a reasonable time (up to 30mins late), or is not present at the agreed place and within a reasonable time when the provider is travelling to deliver the support; or
2. has given less than two (2) clear business days’ notice for a support.
  Late arrivals can only be extended to the remaining time of the scheduled appointment. If you are 30 minutes late past your appointment, we will have to reschedule or cancel the appointment, which will incur the full fee charged. Please see our Cancellation Policy for more information.
Please note, fees for social work therapy and counselling do not attract GST. Fees for clinical supervision, training and provision of reports/documents are GST inclusive.
Where we are not invoicing an organisation or third party, please note there is a 1.9% credit card surcharge for relevant transactions. Note you can also direct deposit your session fees upon receipt of our invoice.
